Consulting
What do you mean by consulting?
When I say I’m a consultant, I’m not just talking about solving problems—I’m talking about helping you move your ideas forward.
You’ve got good instincts, a clear mission, and powerful ideas. But like so many teams and leaders, you might be stuck. Maybe it’s a matter of capacity. Maybe you need a strategic thought partner. Maybe you just need help turning the big idea into something real, step by step.
That’s where I come in. It’s my sweet spot. I work as an extension of your team—bringing fresh perspective, structure, and momentum to help you move from concept to execution to meaningful results. My goal isn’t just to check a box; it’s to help you do the work and build the internal clarity and confidence to keep going long after I’m gone.
Who do you work with as a consultant?
I work with people and organizations who are trying to make something meaningful happen—whether that’s launching a new program, engaging a community, building internal capacity, or navigating change.
My clients include nonprofits, mission-driven organizations, small businesses, and companies looking to connect more deeply with their audiences or communities. I partner with individuals in all kinds of roles—individual contributors, team leads, department heads, and executive leaders—as well as cross-functional teams, vendor partners, and volunteer collaborators.
And if you’re not sure what kind of support you need—or even who you need on the project—I can help you figure that out too. Sometimes I take on full consulting engagements; other times I step in as an advisor, coach, or collaborator to help you get clearer, faster.
With a wide-ranging background in communications, fundraising, operations, research, coaching, and team leadership—and a natural drive to problem-solve—I bring both strategic thinking and practical action to whatever’s next. If you’re stuck, scaling, or just need a partner to help you move something forward, I’d love to hear from you.
Do you lead projects or support internal teams?
Both. Sometimes I step in to lead a project from start to finish—bringing structure, strategy and execution support. Other times, I work alongside internal teams to provide guidance, fill capacity gaps, or help move work forward more effectively. I can take the lead, support your leadership, or partner cross-functionally depending on what your team needs.
Can you help us scope a project, even if we’re not sure what we need yet?
Yes—this is actually one of my favorite ways to work. (So much so that I used the fancy underline function!)
If you have a sense that something needs to happen but aren’t sure what it should look like yet, I can help you clarify the challenge, define goals, and shape a path forward. Whether or not I end up leading the project, I’m happy to be a thinking partner in those early, messy stages.
Do you offer fractional or advisory support?
I do. In addition to project-based consulting, I also offer more flexible advisory support—whether that’s monthly check-ins, strategic guidance during a key transition, or behind-the-scenes coaching for leaders or teams. If you’re not looking for a full engagement but want a trusted voice in your corner, we can build a structure that fits.
How is your consulting work different from your coaching work?
Coaching and consulting are both about partnership and forward momentum—but they differ in focus, method, and the kind of expertise I bring to the table.
Consulting is centered on a challenge, opportunity, or goal. As a consultant, I bring my subject-matter expertise, strategic thinking, and hands-on experience to help organizations and teams move important work forward. I offer insight, direction, and leadership—often stepping in to guide, structure, and execute alongside you.
Coaching, on the other hand, is centered on you—your growth, your clarity, your agency. As a coach, I don’t bring solutions—I bring presence, deep listening, and the tools of the coaching discipline to help you access your own insights and make aligned choices. I leave my personal experience at the door so that the space stays fully yours.
In short:
In consulting, I bring expertise about the problem.
In coaching, I bring expertise in the process—to help you discover what’s next.
How do you use AI in your consulting practice?
As part of my commitment to delivering high-quality, efficient, and creative work, I use AI tools (primarily Open AI’s ChatGPT, Anthropic’s Claude and Google’s Gemini) to support the following areas of my practice:
Creative Concepting: Exploring language, themes, and messaging ideas in branding, fundraising, and communications.
Proposal & Presentation Development: Drafting, structuring, and refining client-ready deliverables with greater speed and clarity.
Strategic Planning: Brainstorming frameworks, generating scenario models, and organizing ideas into actionable plans.
AI is a tool I use to enhance—not replace—my strategic insight, lived experience, and commitment to human-centered work.
How AI Affects You and Your Data
I do not input sensitive or personally identifiable information into AI tools.
When I reference client work in AI-assisted drafting, I anonymize and abstract content to protect confidentiality.
You retain full ownership of all deliverables produced during our engagement, including AI-assisted drafts.
I’m happy to discuss my use of AI further and adjust my approach if your organization has specific preferences or data policies.
How do you charge—flat fee, hourly or retainer?
I typically charge a project-based fee with clear deliverables, timelines, and scope. This allows us to plan and collaborate more effectively. In situations where a project hasn’t been fully defined yet—or where the work is more open-ended—I may offer hourly blocks or short-term retainers. I’m always happy to talk through what structure makes the most sense for your needs and budget.
Do you offer one-time sessions or only ongoing engagements?
I offer both. Most of my consulting work is project-based, but I also offer one-time sessions for strategic advising, problem-solving, or thinking through an opportunity or challenge. This can be especially helpful when you need clarity before committing to a larger engagement—or just want a sounding board.
A one-time session is different from an initial discovery call—it’s a working session where we’ll dig into the substance of your challenge or idea and start mapping out possibilities, solutions, or next steps.
Do you work remotely or in person?
I typically work remotely, which allows for flexible collaboration across teams and time zones. That said, I’m happy to plan for onsite work as projects dictate—especially for key meetings, retreats or moments where in-person connection adds value.
How do we get started?
Book a call or send me an email. We’ll talk through what you're working on, where you're feeling stuck or stretched, and how I might be able to help. From there, we’ll decide on the right structure—whether it's a defined project, advisory support or just one focused session to get you moving.
